The team is looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines along with implementing new and improved safety measures. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety.
Infection control has always been a top priority at Dental by Design. Our infection control processes follows the industry regulated American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines.
Screening Process
The screening process begins over the phone at the time the appointment is requested. Each patient is asked the following questions leading with:
Have you tested positive for COVID-19 and, if yes:
Have you had any of the following symptoms: cough, shortness of breath, fever (≥100.4º F), sore throat, chills, muscle pain, headache, and/or new loss of taste or smell within the prior two weeks.
The date when your symptoms began - if you have had any.
Are you currently under mandatory isolation?
Have you had close contact with an individual diagnosed with COVID-19 or with symptoms?
What steps do we take when a patient arrives?
All patients are required to wear a mask, we can provide them if the patient does not have one.
We ask that you please arrive on time to your appointment, we are scheduling patients strategically to allow for social distancing.
Please leave any personal belongings in your car and we ask that you do not bring additional visitors to your appointment.
We will take a temperature reading at the beginning of the appointment to verify the absence of a fever (any temperature above 100.4°F).
Reconfirm the screening questions above by observation and verbally with the patient.
Complete necessary documentation and discussion, such as health history and treatment informed consent form. Have the patient sign a statement agreeing to notify the dental practice if within two weeks of treatment they test positive for COVID-19.
Staff members are required to follow the steps below:
Each staff member is required to be extra cautious of social distancing
Everyone must take their temperature before arriving and wear masks at all times in the practice
Dentists, hygienists, and assistants will wear a level 3 mask and a face shield to provide the appropriate respiratory protection.
Switch out mask, gown, and gloves in between each patient along with following the regular health guidelines
Wear designated “work-only” shoes that are left and disinfected at the office.
